...I'm sorry for insinuating you weren't taking things serious, first off. But this game stuff - it's very real for me. I've got my little sister to get back to.

[He thanks him for the soda, sipping it while he tries to bring in his tension. That angle's got him immediately interested, although he'll try to act like he's not with varying degrees of success. Gotta play it cool after all.]

Oh, really? [He's a little intrigued - that's a surprise but it's kind of a good surprise.] Mine's Phoebe. She's the best. I wonder if they'd get along at all? Maybe all four of us should get together when we get out of here and find out. See a movie or something.

But... [His fingers come to rest on the soda cap.] We'd have to get out of here for that to happen of course.

[That'd be pretty hard to do while Rhyme is a pin, so he can't show much enthusiasm for that idea. But, it doesn't change that he has to get out of here.]

There's gonna be a real vote. That what you wanted to talk about?

[He nods and continues fiddling with the cap.]

Yeah. I mean, you caught on faster than I did that we could vote for that damn Critter--you had your head on your shoulders better than I did for that one.

But if he's not on the ballot tonight... we're gonna have to figure someone out. So if you got any ideas for some other wolves, might as well lay 'em on me.

[It's hard. Everyone he's actually met so far (except Togami) has been nice. But Beat is serious, especially after learning what could have been in Hanekoma's case. So he won't try to wiggle out of it just because he's disadvantaged in headgames.]

Aight, man. [he pauses.] You seen that lady, Robin? Walks around in some kinda mid-evil armor all the time. I think maybe it's her. The way people got killed today, it was nothin' BUT mid-evil. Cut wit a sword, and burning at the stake... Anyway man, if anyone can use a sword it's gotta be her. Who else do you know dresses like a renfair?

[He tilts his head a little. He's not sure that's how medieval is pronounced... but eh, it'd be a dick move to point that out.]

Maybe... There's another lady who fits that description too though. Can't remember her name - Polly or something - but she's got an old-fashioned getup too. Like some kind of soldier. So... Gotta consider her too if that's your basis.

Though there were two people in the stake video so maybe it could be both of them having an ancient history party, and the other one will execute us for leading the damn charge against them tonight.

[He takes a heavy sip of soda and gruffly sighs after finishing it.] Man, I should have brought old Akane along here too. [He looks back to Beat, takes an explaining tone.] She voted for Mayu yesterday, you know. And that girl was a scavenger as it turns out. So she's kind of on to something.

Polly? Don't know her... but yo, now that you mention it, one of my roommates dress like a soldier too. Prussia.

[So that's scary. He'll finish his own soda as he considers that, but ... no he thinks he wants to move on for now.]

... The thing wit Robin though is, she was real doom and gloom even on day 1 before the critter said what was goin' down. It jus' made me wonder that's all.

Akane, huh? Man, I gotta meet more people... Why'd she vote for Mayu though? [he suspects it is because she was ax crazy]

[He snaps his fingers at Prussia--] Prussia! That's it! Albino lady! I swear to God, the whole country nickname club is weird as hell.

I mean, even before we found out about the game, many of people had perfectly good reasons to be weird about this place. The graveyard had several very morbid people lurking in it for instance.

She just said it seemed like a good idea based on the information she had at the time or something like that. I asked her about it right as we were all walking out of the trial in a big crowd and everything so I guess she wouldn't say too much about it out loud. But if Mr. H was a tracker than maybe Akane could have some way of knowing beyond just smarts too.

I don't know. Mayu seemed like a perfectly pneumatic girl to me but maybe there was something weird about her looking for her axe. I figured she wanted it for woodchopping or something of the sort.

I'm not so sure! She was pretty into dat ax, yo... maybe Akane jus' got spooked.

I thought it was gonna be one prey a day. This is making investigation so much harder.
